The Elkins Mountain Schools are currently hiring case managers, youth treatment assistants, as well as clerical and housekeeping positions. Elkins Mountain Schools is Joint Commission accredited. In partnership with the West Virginia Department of Education, Elkins Mountain Schools provide an on-campus school located at the Main Campus for both residential programs.Ĭonsistent with state and federal standards, the school has highly qualified teachers and provides a transition specialist who assists in the clients’ transition to public school education.Įlkins Mountain Schools employees are extensively screened and trained in accordance with regulations and accredited standards. The Level III residential treatment facility provides intensive treatment services to adolescent males ages 13-17 and their families in an effort to help them live responsible and productive lives. The Level III Main Campus can serve 48 clients and the Level II Oak Ridge Campus can serve 15 clients. In 2001, the Elkins Mountain Schools opened a Level II residential program in the Gilman community, located approximately five minutes from the main campus on Bell Street. Contracted Youth Service workers currently serve Randolph, Tucker, Barbour, Taylor, Upshur and Lewis counties. Shortly after, it expanded its influence by providing contracted Youth Service workers to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources to assist the state with helping at-risk children and their families. The Mountain School first opened as a residential program to keep at-risk male adolescents in-state and closer to their homes, schools and communities. The Elkins Fire Department was one of several visitors who recently took part in a career day at the Elkins Mountain Schools.
